Nevertheless, for many, such sound notifications cause complete irritation, since not only is the sound very sharp and hurts the ears, but sometimes it is very difficult to understand what exactly the platform is notifying us about.
However, few people know that the MT4 terminal can literally talk.
The flexibility of the platform settings is so great that you can easily change all the sound alerts that are boring to you and insert your own entries and commands, and in this article you will learn how to do this.
Today, it is quite easy to record any audio file using third-party programs that can be easily downloaded on the Internet.
However, there is no point in worrying too much, since any computer running the Windows operating system owns the sound recording.
Each user can record their voice by dictating the desired command into the microphone of their headphones or laptop, or directly record from any online service if you do not have a headset.
To start recording, open the Start menu, then select All Programs and find the folder with the Accessories list.
In the list of standard programs, select “Sound Recording”, after which a player line with a slider for recording will appear.
If you encounter difficulties during recording, namely the microphone does not work or you want to record directly from third-party programs, go to the sound settings (you need to right-click on the volume icon in the lower corner of your desktop) and select the required sound recording device.

To do this, enter a voice command in the translation line and click on the voice playback icon, and also turn on the sound recording at the same time, and then save the resulting audio file.

After you have recorded audio messages for certain commands or events in the MetaTrader trading terminal, these files must be placed in the appropriate folder in the terminal data directory.
To do this, find the place where the metatrader is directly installed on your computer (usually the Programs Files folder on drive C) and among the list of system folders, find a folder called Sound and drop your sound recordings or favorite melodies into it.
After you have restarted the platform, you can go directly to the settings and replace sound alerts from standard to your own. To do this, in an open trading terminal, go to the “Service” menu and click on the “Settings” menu item.
To quickly launch, you can also press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+O. Then in the window that appears, select the “Events” tab.
A table will open in front of you with the name of the function in the left column and the soundtrack in the right. Click on the name of the audio file twice opposite the selected function and indicate yours, which you recorded a step earlier. Example:
Also, in addition to changing standard sound alerts, you can set up your own, for example, when the price breaks a certain level.
To do this, in the “Terminal” panel where you track the balance status, as well as open transactions, switch to the “Alerts” tab. Then call up the additional menu with the right mouse button and click “Create” in the list of options that appears.
A window will appear in front of you in which you can specify the type of notification, namely sound, email, create a special file, and so on.
Also in this window you can select a currency pair and set a criterion for your level, both time (sound alert at a certain time) and price (price above or below a specified level) and set your audio file when alerted.
