Deciphering the indicators in the Forex quotes table

A forex quote is the real-time price of one currency unit against another. It is recorded as currency pairs, with the base currency listed first and the quote currency second.
For example, EURUSD – Bid 1.25 Ask 1.26 shows the price of one euro in US dollars. The bid price is 1.25, and the sell price is 1.26.

Most currency pairs on the market have a four-digit quote, which allows tracking the slightest price changes, with the exception of currencies with low prices.

Symbol – the name of a currency pair, in the form of generally accepted designations according to banking classification.

Bid – the price at which you can sell the currency you have. This indicator is less than the purchase price and shows the price at which you can sell the currency you have.

Ask – the price at which you can buy the currency you need from a forex broker.

Spread is the difference between the buy and sell price, a broker's commission for providing brokerage services. It can be fixed (the spread remains constant) or floating (the spread changes depending on market volatility). This indicator is expressed in pips, with one pip corresponding to the last digit in the displayed price of a currency pair. Its value ranges from 1 to 100, depending on the instrument's popularity and liquidity.

For short-term trading, currency pairs with the smallest spreads are selected; only then will it be possible to achieve profitability in trades on short time frames.
