Exchange trading in rubles in the modern realities of spring 2022

After the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, the number of exchange transactions with the Russian ruble increased hundreds of times.

Most transactions involve the exchange of cash Russian currency for harder monetary units of other countries. The most popular are the US dollar and the euro.

In this way, people try to protect their savings from depreciation due to inflation and a rapidly falling exchange rate.

The situation on the foreign exchange market is quite difficult, and the introduction of a 12% tax on the purchase of foreign currency only further fueled the downward trend.

It would seem that at this time there are limitless opportunities for making money on the USDRUB and EURRUB currency pairs; to make a profit, you just need to open a deal to buy the dollar or euro.

But in fact, the situation is not as simple as it seems at first glance, look at what the chart of the USDRUB pair looks like:

Despite the prevailing upward trend, the price is moving up with simply huge pullbacks of several percent. It's not uncommon for impressive gaps .

Therefore, you need to carefully assess the situation when opening a new transaction and be prepared for a strong correction; transactions using leverage .

The second point is the lack of the ability to open new orders in the trading platform. Most brokers have switched transactions on ruble currency pairs to the “Closing only” mode. For this reason, it will not be possible to open a new deal.

As a result, you can only be content with alternative exchange options in the trader’s personal account, in electronic payment systems or online exchange offices.

Moreover, in order to make a profit, you will first have to wait until the exchange rate compensates for the large commission paid for opening a transaction.

Therefore, now the best option is to refuse to trade the Russian ruble until the exchange rate stabilizes and trade is transferred to Full Trade mode.
