Organizing a trader's work, how to start your working day

Being a trader has long been a dream for many people, and feature films about successful stock market players have played a significant role in polarizing the profession.

Moreover, most people who want to make a career on the stock exchange are attracted not only by the size of the monetary reward, but also by the opportunity to work without a boss and whenever they want.

But freelancing, which is precisely the type of work organization that modern trading can be classified as, has both its advantages and significant disadvantages.

You don't have to go to work, but at the same time you are constantly at home, and the home is perceived as a place for relaxation, not as a work office.

No one gives you assignments, and you need to organize your work process yourself, set tasks, and complete them.

At one time, I also encountered a number of problems that I had to deal with while trying to work, so I gained some experience that I would like to share with novice traders on how to organize trading at home.

How to organize a trader's workspace and time

At first glance, it may seem that issues such as time and location of work are not particularly important for a freelancer, but in reality, these are the most important aspects.

The workplace should be located where no one will disturb you so you can concentrate and make the right decision.

In addition, a work stop must be created, because, believe me, the kitchen table stimulates thoughts more about the products in the refrigerator than about technical analysis.

Ideally, your workspace should be located outside your apartment, but if this is not possible, then at least in a separate room.

Equipment – it is recommended to use a computer or laptop at first, as it is much easier to master all the technical aspects of trading on such equipment:

There are no special power requirements, as the MetaTrader trading platform is not a resource-intensive program. Obviously, if you're using an older laptop running Windows XP, you'll likely encounter some issues.

The working day is individual, the main thing is to alternate work time with breaks for rest, study, and exercise.

For example, my workday starts at 4-5 am and I review the news, which is used to make decisions about medium-term investments.

Then comes time for breakfast and water treatments, after eating there are two more hours of work – opening short-term transactions based on technical analysis:

Next comes a break for a morning workout, which, with a subsequent shower, takes about an hour and a half, since I have a small gym at home.

From about 10 to 1 pm, it's back to trading and time for studying, because even after 10 years of trading, you learn something new.

After lunch, it's time for household chores—managing household finances, shopping, and spending time with family. It's worth noting that it's not always possible to stick to a strict schedule; a rough daily plan is the foundation upon which the work process is built.

But the most important thing in our work is to force ourselves to get up early in the morning and get down to work when no one needs to account for the results and no one demands that we fulfill our duties.
