How to change the broker's leverage up or down

The main tool that allows you to significantly increase the volume of Forex transactions is leverage.
Its size plays a huge role in many trading strategies; it is also this parameter that is responsible for the amount of risk; it characterizes the ratio of the opened position to own funds.

Many traders, when opening an account, choose the maximum available, and then independently set this ratio.

But there are also those who prefer that the size of the lever immediately correspond to their chosen strategy.

But what to do if this option was already selected when opening an account? There are several options for changing leverage in a trader’s personal account:

Change account leverage – unfortunately, not available from all brokers, but from the broker RoboForex such a possibility exists.

To change, just select the account on which you want to change the leverage and go to the “Account” menu to the “Change Leverage” tab:

Then we simply select the size we need, in my case you can choose from 1:1 to 1:2000:

It all depends on the type of account you are trading on.

After selection and confirmation, the size of the lever changes instantly. Open a new account - if your broker does not have the option described above, and you do not want to change the broker itself, then you can open a new account.

Almost all brokerage companies have this opportunity, and during the opening process we already set the amount of leverage .

The entire process of changing leverage takes a minimum of time; after the account is opened, we transfer the available funds from the old account to the new one and everything is ready.

When does it become necessary to change the amount of leverage provided?

First of all, if you decide to increase your leverage, for example, you decide to use pips .

Brokers also often change trading conditions for the better; not so long ago, for cryptocurrencies, the maximum available leverage rarely exceeded 1:5, and now it reaches 1:50, why not use new opportunities.

In the second case, if you want to forcibly control the size of your transactions, for example, we set the leverage to 1:10 and now if in the trading platform we want to open a transaction of a larger volume, we will receive a refusal due to lack of funds.

That is, now your transactions will not exceed the amount in the account by more than 10 times, regardless of what asset you are trading.
