Requote (requote).
In addition to the risk of losses due to currency risk, trading on Forex also presents a host of other problems that can hinder trading, one of which is the occurrence of requotes.
A requote is a refusal in the trader's trading terminal to execute an order due to a price change. Typically, in this case, you enter the message, "The order cannot be executed because the market price has changed. Do you accept the new price?"
Causes of occurrence.
This event occurred because while your order was being sent to the market, the price moved several points further and the broker did not want to bear the losses associated with executing this order.
Requotes typically occur in an overly liquid market, when the trend is moving at a fairly high speed and executing a forex order at the requested price is simply unrealistic, as the minimum order execution time is 1 second, during which the price can change by a couple of pips.
Another reason for rejections can be slow order execution, when the time between placing an order and its execution is 3 seconds or more, which is understandable, as the market price can change during this time.
A third, purely criminal, scenario occurs when your broker prevents you from entering the market at a favorable price, simply rejecting your trade, citing a requote.
Trading without requotes.
There are several ways to avoid requotes on Forex:
1. Use market price deviations – when opening a new order, you can set a tolerance in a special window that will still trigger the opening of a new position.
Typically, this tolerance ranges from 2 to 5 pips; a larger deviation can significantly impact the financial outcome of the transaction.
This method is not suitable for scalpers, as
every pip of profit is crucial
internet trading 2. Put trading on hold – simply wait out a sharp trend change until the market slows down a bit. However, losing potential profits is quite frustrating.
3. Change brokerage company or account – requotes are more common on cent accounts; switching to a standard or VIP account can sometimes eliminate them completely. If this doesn't happen, the only option is to change brokers.
Try to trade with large, well-known brokerage companies, as requotes are more common with representative offices and smaller brokers.
