Download and install the trading terminal.

Currently, there is virtually no debate among traders about which terminal is better; virtually everyone prefers MetaTrader 4.

The only alternative may be specialized terminals for automated trading or binary options.

But if you're just starting out, don't reinvent the wheel; simply download the MetaTrader 4 terminal from your broker's website.

Why your broker's website?

- The terminal does not require additional settings.

- Performance statistics will be immediately available on the forex broker website.

- All the necessary scripts that you download will do.

Trading platforms are provided absolutely free of charge, downloading and installation is carried out according to the standard scheme.

• Download the program file.
• Run the installation.
• Specify the installation location, usually it is drive "C" - "Program Files"

After installation, launch the MetaTrader 4 and proceed to setting up accounts.

First, you are asked to open a demo account, you can skip this step and do it later, but it is better to open it right away.

To do this, you just need to enter any data in the registration window:

• Full name - any, even fictitious.

• Address - also does not matter, but you need to fill it in.

• Phone and email.

• Account type - here you determine the account currency in which you will make transactions, it is better to choose USD, this is the best time-tested option.

• Leverage - set the same as you plan to use in real trading. How to determine the size is described in the article " How to choose leverage ".

• Deposit – don't get carried away here; realistically assess your financial capabilities. Set the amount you plan to trade with on a live account.

Click Next and follow the prompts to complete the opening process.

After that, you can try your hand at trading on a demo account, but first, you need to customize the trading terminal. We'll discuss how to do this in the next article.
