Standard Expert Advisors in the MetaTrader Trading Platform
The MetaTrader trading platform is a multifunctional tool, and one of its functions is automated trading.

For this purpose, special scripts called advisors or experts are used; they independently analyze the market and open positions.
By default, the MetaTrader 4 trading platform comes with several pre-installed expert advisors that you can use in your trading completely free of charge.
Unfortunately, the number of these scripts is only decreasing every year, and now you will rarely find a broker whose trading platform has more than two advisors.

It's worth noting that depending on the broker, both the number of robots offered and their type may vary, but most often you'll encounter:
MACD Sample is an advisor created on the basis of the classic Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) indicator.
In other words, trade signals are generated based on the difference between two moving averages. This approach is suitable for virtually any asset and timeframe.
In terms of performance, the advisor showed positive results when tested on historical data:

Using the standard default settings, the net profit over a year of operation was $141, or 1.41% of the deposit. You can try to improve the results by experimenting with timeframes and assets.
Moving Average - the basic principle of the MA advisor is to determine the moment of entry and exit from the market based on price changes and moving averages.
The advisor places buy or sell orders for a currency pair when the price crosses the MA line. The Moving Average is a universal robot and can be used on any timeframe or asset.
For testing, we take the same time period as for the MACD Sample test, but we get a completely different result:

Over the course of a year, the loss amounted to $1,030 on a deposit of $10,000. Optimization might help improve the results, but it's still better to use a different trading robot.
To compensate for the small number of scripts available for work, the line "1200 More" has been added to the end of the list:

When you click it, you are redirected to the Library tab, where you can choose from free advisors created by MetaTrader 4 users themselves.
Despite the vast selection, these scripts are mostly developed by novice authors, and choosing an effective option will require considerable effort.
In my opinion, it's better to download a free advisor from our website. If you want not only a good advisor but also instructions on how to set it up, then you'll have to buy a script from professional developers the MetaTrader marketplace
