Gap statistics script for a currency pair

The phenomenon of Forex gaps has caused many traders considerable trouble, as they prevent stop orders from being triggered.

More precisely, they are triggered, but only after the price gap has closed and at the closing price.

There are also many strategies that use gaps as entry signals, guided by the principle that every price gap must close.

Therefore, it's crucial to choose a currency pair that rarely experiences price gaps or, conversely, to find an instrument with the largest gaps.

For this purpose, a script has been developed to analyze Forex gap statistics across currency pairs.

It's a fairly simple script that you just need to download and add to your terminal's scripts folder. Then, open the terminal and run gap_info, which is the name of our script.

As a result, in the currency pair chart window you will see:

Gaps statistics for several currency pairs over a period of several months.

When first launched, some currencies may display statistics for 1970, so you'll need to click the script again.

The tool has virtually no settings, and to edit the default currency pairs, simply open MetaEditor and edit the pairs in this line:

string txt[9] = {"EURUSD","USDJPY","EURGBP","GBPUSD","EURCHF","GBPJPY","USDCHF","AUDUSD"}

If you use the script without editing, you'll see statistics for the pairs listed above over the past months.

Overall, it's a fairly simple yet useful tool.
