Resuscitation of the Auto-Profit expert
It’s no secret to many that recently a lot of sites have sprung up that specialize in distributing
advisors for registration using a broker’s affiliate link. One of the most popular is investment systems, the advertising of which only the blind have not seen.
The earnings of such companies depend on the payment of commissions from the turnover of attracted clients. Of course, a lot of people have lost money because of the advisors that were given out for free by these companies, but you must understand that the company is not interested in losing your capital, but on the contrary is trying to make your capital last as long as possible.
However, almost all robots that are created by their developers are aimed at ensuring that the expert opens as many transactions as possible and keeps the profit at least in a small plus.
The Auto-Profit advisor is another development of the investment systems website, but in our version I want to consider a modified and redesigned version of this expert by one respected programmer. The essence of the work is that the expert places orders according to a certain filter, and if the price does not go towards profit, the expert averages the loss.
Unlike the classic martingale, the expert has a built-in short distance between orders in order to get maximum profit with a small rollback without being in a drawdown for a long time. On the one hand, this approach helps to get a good profit during a relative drawdown, but a good prolonged flat is simply destructive for this robot. Knowing all such weaknesses, we will try to make them a strength.
Before you start working with the expert, you need to install it. Installation is the same as for a regular Expert Advisor, but you must remember to place the indicators in the Indicators folder, and the Expert Advisor in the expert folder. You can access these folders through the data directory, which you can access through the file menu.
You can read in more detail how to install experts and their configuration principles in the article “ How to use an advisor for Forex. ” After you add an expert to the chart of the euro/dollar or pound/dollar currency pair, settings will appear in front of you, which we will discuss below:
Almost all the settings of the expert's author were made in Russian, so you should not have any problems with the settings. The first thing you can do is disable or enable martingale in the MMType line.
However, I do not recommend that you disable it, since this is where the entire algorithm of the expert’s work lies. You also have the opportunity to enable automatic lot calculation depending on the risk or make it static.
To do this, you set LotConst to true or false. If you set it to true, then set your standard lot in the lot line, and if you choose false, then set the risk percentage in the RiskPercent line.
The step function is responsible for the distance between orders, and MaxTrades is responsible for the maximum number of martingale legs. You also have the opportunity to set the period of the HMA Color indicator for the trend filter in the corresponding settings block.
We decided to conduct the first test with default settings for the euro/dollar currency pair on a five-minute chart. The test period is as always from 06/1/1015 to 07/1/2015. The result is in the picture below:
After this result, we optimized the distance and multiplication coefficient settings. The expert settings will be included with the advisor. You can see the result after optimization in the picture below:
I also did the same with optimized settings for the euro on the pound/dollar pair. The test conditions are the same, and the result is below:
In general, the expert gave 100% profit in each version of the test. Of course, before betting on a real account, I recommend conducting detailed testing on a cent account with brokers such as InstaForex or Amarkets , but the expert deserves trust, despite the risks it carries.
