Milky Way Advisor – stability confirmed by a year of tests

The Milky Way advisor is a unique development of a domestic trader, which has been bringing profit to its owner for exactly one year now. It is no secret that our team constantly monitors the situation with the emergence of new products on the Forex market.

Expert Milky Way first appeared on one of the respected Russian-language forums, where the author actively discussed the topic of his advisor, its purpose and, most importantly, tests. 

The most interesting thing is that, despite the fact that the expert is clearly a novelty, its author did not make sales and try to make a lot of money on it, as is usually done by unscrupulous sellers who think only about profit and do not care about clients.

In order to start working with an expert, you need to install it in the Meta Trader 4 trading terminal. To do this, download the archive with the advisor and indicator inside at the end of the article. Launch a terminal, go to the file tab and open the data directory. Place the advisor in the expert folder, and the indicator in the indicators folder.

After restarting the trading terminal, enter the list of experts and drag Milky Way onto the chart with the currency pair. You should see the Expert Advisor settings window, which will be discussed below:

 The Milky Way advisor is based on a unique indicator trading strategy, the goal of which is to enter the trend on pullbacks. The position is entered based on the reading of the Bollinger Bands indicator with a trend filter using the Ozymandias indicator. The expert itself is designed to work on a four-hour chart. Due to the flexibility of the expert settings, it can be optimized for trading on any currency pair, but the main ones recommended by the developer are AUDUSD, EURGBP, EURJPY, EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDCAD, USDCHF, USDJPY.

The author of the expert has divided all the settings into blocks, which he named in Russian. For example, in the “Enter Settings” block, you can specify the period of the Bollinger Bands indicator in the BBPeriod line. In the MaxCandle line, you can specify the maximum candle in points, based on which the entry will occur. In the OzymandiasFilter line you can enable or disable the trend filter for the Ozymandias indicator.

In the “Exit Settings” block, you can allow or disable exiting a position using the Stochastic indicator .

To do this, turn on True or False in the StochExit line. In the lines KPer, DPer, SPer you can change the parameters of the Stochastic indicator.

In the StochB line, you can change the level on the Stochastic indicator when it crosses, which the expert will leave the position. 

In the MACDExit line you can allow or prohibit exiting a position using the MACD indicator . You can also configure exit from a position based on volatility.

To do this, in the VolExit line, enable or disable this function. In the ATREPer line you can change the period of the ATR indicator.

There are also the following blocks: “Stop option settings”, “ Trailing stop ”, “Money management”. All settings in these blocks are clear by eye, but I will attach instructions with a more detailed review by the expert.

The expert decided to conduct the first test on the pound/dollar currency pair. To do this, load the settings that are recommended for this currency pair and start the test on a four-hour period. The expert testing period is from January 1, 2015 to July 1, 2015. The test result is shown in the picture below:

 The expert decided to do the second test on the euro/pound currency pair. I took the parameters recommended by the developer. The test result is shown in the picture below:

Many will say that the profit is too small. But personally, I can say from myself that the main thing is not quick profit, but stability.
