The XAUUSD gold quote is a two-digit decimal point, which is convenient because 1 pip equals 1 cent. This means the minimum price change is 1 cent, and the spread will also be displayed in cents.
The price of the metal is indicated per 1 troy ounce , with 1 lot equal to 100 ounces and the minimum transaction size being 0.01 lot or one troy ounce.
When carrying a position over to the next day a swap commission ; for purchase transactions it is negative, and for sale transactions it is positive.
The XAGUSD silver quote is a three-digit quote with three decimal places, meaning the minimum price movement is only 0.1 cents.
The metal price here, like for gold, is quoted per troy ounce, but 1 lot of silver is equivalent to 5,000 ounces. The minimum order size on the trading platform is 0.01 lot or 50 ounces.
The swap for long positions is negative, you are charged for transferring the transaction to the next day, while the swap for short positions is positive , and profit is accrued on them.
