Investors Dream is a program based on Bill Williams' trading strategy. It allows you to test and try out his trading strategy on various currency pairs, futures, and stocks. Installing the program is straightforward, so after downloading it, simply specify the installation path at the end of this article and begin the installation.
After you first launch the program, a window will appear with visual display settings and the option to select the instrument you're interested in. All trading instruments are divided into groups, allowing you to view a list of stocks, futures, and indices. Once you've opened a category, click the name of the asset you'd like to test your trading strategy on.
In the right column, you can set the number of bars that need to be downloaded for viewing in history, specify a specific period, and also specify the number of bars that will be shown on the chart.
You can also directly select the asset's time frame. You can view minute, daily, weekly, and monthly charts. You can also set the desired time frame in minutes. For more details, see the image below:
Since the quotes are clearly outdated, for a more accurate test, you can upload your own data for a more recent period. The data required for the program is collected using a script in the MT4 trading terminal and then uploaded in the same way as the main instruments through the root directory.
Once you launch the asset you need, it will immediately appear on the chart with the default Bill Williams indicators installed.
Investors Dream is primarily an educational program based on Bill Williams' trading strategy, allowing you to see the strategy's performance on various assets. To move quotes forward and create new bars, arrows resembling a player are present in the lower left corner.
Clicking the arrow outlines a single bar. Another way to move the price is to hold down the left mouse button and drag the chart to the right. However, this often causes the chart to narrow or shift. For more details, see the image below:
To change the indicator color and settings, right-click on the screen and open the "Indicators Properties" menu. A menu with tabs containing the indicator names will appear. When switching to a specific indicator, you can change its color and period, allowing you to deviate from the initial strategy programmed into the program.
If you're not used to working on a bar chart, don't despair. By going to the "Chart Properties" menu, you can change the chart to a candlestick chart and customize your desktop to suit your needs.
