Of course, many may say that scalping has a number of advantages, including increased profitability. However, if you look at the root of the problem, the answer is much simpler than you might imagine.
Previously, all scalpers worked with their hands using their trading strategies, but the rapidly developing market gradually began to dictate its own conditions, in which the speed of entering a position became a very important factor.
Therefore, most scalpers began to robotize their trading strategies, and those who do not do this are simply left without money. This is such a harsh reality and this is why you can increasingly see various scalping advisors, but not new scalping strategies .
The CloveriX v5.0 advisor was a unique development of 2013, which was very sensational in its time. CloveriX v5.0 is a representative of the family of night scalpers working on such currency pairs as euro/dollar and pound/dollar. There are a lot of myths surrounding the internal algorithm of the advisor. The most common myth is that the advisor works on an indicator trading strategy.
The second myth is that the expert is created on the basis of a neural network. However, after reviewing the code, it turned out that this expert uses a purely mathematical calculation without the use of indicators. Since the strategy is multi-currency, you can optimize the expert for trading on any currency pair.
To get started, you should install the Expert Advisor in the Meta Trader 4 trading terminal. To do this, download the archive with the Expert Advisor at the end of the article. In your terminal, go to the file tab and open the data directory. Place the advisor in the expert folder and restart the trading terminal. In the list of advisors, find the CloveriX v5.0 and drag it onto the currency pair chart . You will see a window of settings that should be optimized.
The authors of the advisor did not reveal the maximum settings, but left only the basic ones. In the lot line you can specify a standard lot with which the advisor will open its positions. In the GMT line you can change the time zone. The Magic line allows the Expert Advisor to identify its open positions. The advisor has a dedicated section for optimization. Lines X1, X2, X3 and X4 are coefficients that take part in the calculation of extremes. These parameters should be optimized for each currency pair. When a movement occurs, the advisor opens a series of orders of 10 points between orders, thus taking away the entire price movement.

I decided to conduct the first test on the euro/dollar currency pair with the default settings from the creators of the expert. The test result is shown in the picture below:
As you can see, the expert confidently and gradually drains the trading account. Therefore, I decided to optimize the parameters X1, X2, X3 and X4. The result of optimization with forward testing is shown in the picture below.
After optimizing the settings, the expert began to confidently increase the deposit. However, the forward test is not a significant indicator towards the profitability of the expert. Personally, I recommend testing on a cent account with a minimum lot or at least a demo account.
