Silent Ilan
For the first time, the advisor was posted on a domestic forum by one of the fans of Ilan advisors. As you probably guessed from the name, this expert is another modification of the well-known advisor Ilan.
An important difference between this advisor and its previous version is the entry using an indicator trading strategy, as well as many positive reviews. The product is not commercial, so the author created it the way it is. Thanks to him for that too.
The advisor itself, like its older counterpart, is a classic martingale or, as traders say: “Typical monkeys.” Of course, one can argue for a long time about the disadvantages of martingale, about how it can lead to the loss of an account, but still many people work with it and make good money. How long? That's another question.
Silent Ilan gives the biggest profit in the flat.
Like all Ilans, the advisor is multicurrency and can be used on any time frame from M5 to H4. The preferred currency pairs are pound/dollar and euro/dollar. As I wrote above, the advisor is created on the basis of Martingale , so the settings are very similar to Ilan-like robots. In the Expert Advisor, in the LotVariant line, you can specify the lot calculation option. I recommend working with a fixed lot, which you can set in the FixLot line.
The advisor has a time filter where you can specify the end time of trading.
In the StartTime line you can specify what time the advisor can start trading. You can also disable this filter altogether. To do this, simply write 0 in the UseHour line. Like any martingale, in the LotExponent line, you can change the multiplication factor in case of a losing position. In the MaxTrades column, you can specify the maximum number of orders that will be opened if the market moves in your direction.
To enter a position, the advisor takes readings from two indicators, namely the well-known RSI oscillator , as well as the Ozymandias indicator. In the RSIPer line you can change the period of the RSI indicator, and in the Glubina line you can change the number of last bars to calculate volatility .
Silent Ilan advisor test
I decided to conduct the first test on the euro/dollar pair on the m5 time frame. The result, to be honest, was not very good and the advisor lost the account within a couple of days. See the graph in the picture below:
Having seen such results, I came to the conclusion that I need to change some settings in the advisor. To begin with, I reduced the fixed profit from 100 points to 15. Next, I turned on the lot definition mode to fixed and set the initial lot to 0.1. I also increased the maximum number of orders from 7 to 15. All settings were changed intuitively, so you can see the result on the chart:
The profit for three months was 17 percent, and the maximum drawdown barely reached 7 percent.
I would like to note that I did not do detailed optimization, but these are superficial settings. With detailed customization, you can squeeze a lot more out of the market, so I think the advisor has a lot of potential. Before placing an advisor on an account, do not forget to carry out optimization and testing on cent accounts .
