Installing the Canabis Eclipse Advisor
In order to install the Canabis Eclipse expert, as well as test it in the strategy tester, you will need to download a number of expert files with auxiliary indicators at the end of the article, and then install them in the MT4 trading platform.
The Canabis Eclipse Expert Advisor is installed according to the standard scheme, namely, you will need to dump the downloaded Expert Advisor file, as well as custom indicators, into the appropriate folders in the terminal data directory.
To access the catalog, launch your trading terminal and go to the “File” menu in the upper left corner. Then, in the list of options that appears, find the line called “Open Data Directory” and run it.
After you enter the directory, a number of system folders will be displayed on your monitor screen, among which find the folder called expert and drop the downloaded Canabis Eclipse advisor file into it, and also find the folder called indicators and drop a number of custom indicators.
Then, in order for the platform to see the installed files, it must be updated in the navigator panel or restarted.
After restarting the terminal, Canabis Eclipse will appear in the list of advisors, and in order for it to start trading, just drag the name of the instrument onto the five-minute chart of your chosen currency pair.

The Canabis Eclipse advisor works according to a simple grid strategy, namely, as the price moves, the expert places market orders at a certain distance from each other.
At the moment when the price begins to move against open orders, transactions are opened in the opposite direction. To select the correct direction of trades, the advisor uses a number of auxiliary custom indicators.
In the advisor settings there are more than two tens of parameters, which in one way or another can affect the effectiveness of the advisor.
So in the lots line you can change the position volume, and in the pipstep line you can set the number of points after which a new grid position will open.
The Delta variable allows you to increase the distance for each new order, which will be summed up with pipstep. In the maxorders variable you can limit the advisor in simultaneously open orders.
Thanks to the timeout variable, you can close all open orders after a certain time, which you specify in the timeminutes line.
Using the hidesl and hidetp parameters, you can prevent the advisor from sending stop and profit data for your orders, which will allow you to hide this data from the broker.
The advisor also has the ability to place protective and target orders using the ATR indicator.
To do this, select True in the dynamicsl line, and the indicator period changes in the atrperiod line, and the multiplication coefficient in the atrmultiple line.
You can also use moving averages as a filter in the mafilter line, the damiani indicator in the damianifilter line, and the carmen indicator in the usecarmen line.
Testing the Canabis Eclipse advisor
In order to check how relevant the default settings of the Canabis Eclipse advisor are, we decided to test it in the strategy tester on the Euro/Dollar currency pair on a five-minute chart for the entire 2016. The test result is shown below:
As you can see, the Expert Advisor successfully passed testing on the designated historical site, despite the fact that the Expert Advisor's parameters were relevant only in 2014.
