Canabis Eclipse Advisor
Grid trading strategies are an effective tool in today's dynamically changing markets.
It is thanks to such trading strategies that a trader does not need to catch trend waves, since wherever the price moves, a series of trades are immediately waiting for it.
Thus, the trading process is not about predicting the future price movement, which is quite difficult in modern conditions, but about strictly following the market.
Such strategies also resulted from the absence of long-term trends, which have now been replaced by wide sideways movements.
However, while grid strategies are an effective mechanism in theory, in practice, handling a huge number of orders simultaneously can create difficulties for all of them. This is why grid strategies, more than any other, require full automation.
The Canabis Eclipse Advisor is a grid-based expert advisor that trades market orders during the night flatA.
It's worth noting that the first version of the expert advisor was developed by Indonesian traders. However, after the advisor gained popularity in the Russian-speaking segment, enthusiastic traders made a number of edits and adjustments to its parameters, allowing the robot to be reconfigured to suit any changes in the Forex market.
Installing the Canabis Eclipse Advisor
To install the Canabis Eclipse expert advisor and test it in the strategy tester, you will need to download a number of expert advisor files with auxiliary indicators at the end of the article, and then install them on the MT4 trading platform.
The Canabis Eclipse advisor is installed using the standard procedure. Specifically, you'll need to copy the downloaded expert advisor file and custom indicators to the appropriate folders in the terminal's data directory.
To access the catalog, launch your trading terminal and go to the "File" menu in the upper left corner. Then, in the list of options that appears, find the line titled "Open Data Catalog" and launch it.
After you enter the directory, a number of system folders will be displayed on your monitor screen. Among them, find a folder called expert and drop the downloaded Canabis Eclipse advisor file into it. Also, find a folder called indicators and drop a number of custom indicators.
Then, in order for the platform to see the installed files, it must be updated in the navigator panel or restarted.

After restarting the terminal, Canabis Eclipse will appear in the list of advisors, and in order for it to start trading, simply drag the name of the instrument onto the five-minute chart of your chosen platform currency pair.
Canabis Eclipse Advisor Trading Strategy Settings
The Canabis Eclipse advisor operates on a simple grid strategy, which means that as the price moves, the expert advisor places market orders at a certain distance from each other.
When the price begins to move against open orders, trades are opened in the opposite direction. To determine the correct trade direction, the advisor uses a number of auxiliary custom indicators.

The advisor settings contain more than two dozen parameters that can somehow influence the advisor's effectiveness.
So, in the lots line you can change the position volume, and in the pipstep line you can set the number of points after which a new grid position will open.
The Delta variable allows you to increase the distance for each new order, which will be added to the pipstep. The maxorders variable allows you to limit the EA's number of simultaneously open orders.
Using the timeout variable, you can close all open orders after a certain time, which you specify in the timeminutes line.
Using the hidesl and hidetp parameters, you can prevent the advisor from sending stop and profit data for your orders, which will hide this data from the broker.
The advisor also has the ability to place protective and target orders based on the ATR indicator.
To do this, in the dynamicsl line you select True, while the indicator period changes in the atrperiod line, and the multiplication factor in the atrmultiple line.
You can also use moving averages as a filter in the mafilter line, the damiani indicator in the damianifilter line, and the carmen indicator in the usecarmen line.
Testing the Canabis Eclipse Advisor
To test the Canabis Eclipse advisor's default settings, we tested it in the strategy tester on the EUR/USD currency pair, using a five-minute chart for the entire year of 2016. The test results are below:

As you can see, the advisor successfully passed testing on the allocated historical period, despite the fact that the expert's parameters were only relevant in 2014.
In conclusion, it's worth noting that the Canabis Eclipse advisor is a promising robot, but to ensure successful operation, you'll need to perform detailed optimization.
