InOut Advisor
Often, developers, in order to get better at it, post their work on various Forex forums, and then refine their creations with a collegiate mind. The history of the InOut advisor began with the fact that a well-known programmer and activist under the nickname Chimilion posted a simple expert that opened an order only to sell, and in case of a loss, it began to average the position.
However, traders, not at a loss, quickly strained to create an expert based on a custom indicator that gave clear signals. Almost all traders are passionate people, so at the same speed they got excited about creating something new, at the same speed they got burned out.
Even though the topic has died down, the author has created a good expert, which our team decided to review on the page of this site. Before you start, you should install the Expert Advisor in the Meta Trader 4 trading platform.
To do this, download the archive with the advisor inside at the end of the article. Launch your trading terminal, go to the file menu and open the data directory. Among all the folders, you need to find a folder called expert and place our downloaded file there. In order for the terminal to be seen by the advisor, you should restart it. After launch, go to the advisors menu and drag InOut onto the chart with the price. A settings window will appear in front of you, which we will talk about below:
The Expert Advisor was based on a very simple trading strategy based on the IVAR indicator. The indicator is a simple oscillator, so the expert buys when the indicator line crosses the 0.5 level from bottom to top and sells when the indicator crosses the 0.5 level from top to bottom. If the position is unprofitable, upon reaching a certain distance, the expert opens an order with a double lot in the opposite direction. You can see what this indicator looks like in the picture below:
Since we have figured out the input algorithm, we smoothly move on to the Expert Advisor settings. Due to the fact that the expert was written by our programmer, all the settings lines are made in Russian, and those who have encountered advisors will understand it right away. Well, for beginners, in the line “close everything when receiving profit” you can set the profit in dollar equivalent.
The line “loss in points at which the advisor opens an opposite order” is responsible for the distance between orders when averaging a losing position.
In the line “how many times do we increase the opposite lot” you can set the multiplication factor for the martingale order. The lot line changes the original lot.
In the line “after this number of orders, we close all of them at a loss” you can set the maximum number of averaging orders. If the expert does not come out of a loss within 10 positions, the advisor will close a series of orders to avoid losses. Overall, these are the basic settings you need to know.
After describing the expert, we move on to the actual test in the strategy tester. Decide to conduct the first test on the euro/dollar currency pair on a five-minute time frame. The testing period is from January 1, 2015 to July 1, 2015. The result of testing with default settings is shown in the picture below:
The second test was carried out on the pound/dollar currency pair. All testing dates and conditions remain the same. The test result is shown in the picture below:
In general, the yield curve and with such risks would probably surprise even the most inveterate skeptics of automated trading. Therefore, our team will soon conduct a test of the Expert Advisor on our server. Thank you for your attention, and remember, the minimum deposit for correct operation is $100 on a cent account. Recommended brokers for using the expert are Amarkets and InstaForex . Profit gentlemen!
