Averaging Expert Advisor

A trader’s profitability directly depends on the money management model in Forex. However, it is not always justified to use systems with maximum risk reduction, because potential profitability, as a rule, is also noticeably reduced.

At the same time, aggressive money management models such as averaging and martingale make it possible to make almost any trading strategy profitable for a time.

But, unfortunately, aggressive models can only be used for a short time to achieve very tangible goals, due to the high risk in the long term.

You can get acquainted with one of these Forex advisors, which is based on averaging, while reading this article.

EA RSI Averange is an averaging advisor based on the well-known standard oscillator called the relative strength index.

The robot, in fact, is a kind of implementation of the scalping approach to trading using overbought and oversold zones of the market, but with the absence of stop orders. The averaging advisor is effective with proper optimization of settings on any currency pairs, which undoubtedly makes it a multi-currency expert.

It is also worth noting that the robot can be adapted to almost any Forex time frames, and the lower time frame, the more transactions he will open.

Thus, the averaging advisor can be used as a scalper or even a pipser, or as a medium-term trading robot.

Installing the robot in the MT4 trading terminal

Averaging-based advisors often appear on a regular basis, but in most cases, in order to get them you either need to pay or meet certain conditions.

In our case, the averaging expert EA RSI Averange appeared quite recently, namely in 2018, and was published by the author in the official library of MT4 developers.

Thus, not only is it free, but it can also be installed in two ways.

The first installation method is done through your trading platform, without any additional downloads. Namely, after launching MT4, go to the “Terminal” panel at the very bottom of the interface, and then open the “Library” tab.

Once you go to the library tab, be sure to do a simple sorting that will allow you to enable the display of only advisors.

In the resulting list, find the EA RSI Averange averaging advisor and load it in the same way as shown in the image below:

If installation via the library caused any difficulties, you can resort to the standard scheme.

To do this, go to the end of the article and download the Expert Advisor file, then place it in the appropriate folder of the terminal data directory, namely in the folder called Experts.

Regardless of the installation method, restart the trading terminal or update it in the navigator panel, otherwise EA RSI Averange will not appear in the list of advisors. In order for the robot to start trading, drag its name onto the chart of the currency pair.

Averaging advisor strategy. Settings

As you may have noticed, the key basis of this expert is not the strategy itself, but the chosen averaging money management model. However, to open trades, the robot is guided by the data of the RSI indicator .

So, if the robot enters the RSI overbought zone, the EA opens a sell position, and if it enters the oversold zone, the EA opens a buy position.

The advisor does not place a stop order on the order, but instead averages the loss by placing additional orders with an increased volume, and does this until the price reverses and a profit is made from the totality of transactions.

So in the timeframe_RSI variable you can change in minutes from which time frame RSI will analyze the price.

The period_RSI variable is responsible for the indicator calculation period, and in the level_buy and level_sell variables you can change the overbought and oversold levels.

In the MinStep variable you can specify the distance between averaging orders in points, and in the K_Lot variable you set the martingale multiplication coefficient.
In the Lot variable you can specify the volume of the initial averaging transaction, and in the Takeprofit variable the size of the profit. Testing

The default settings in the EA RSI Averange advisor are for informational purposes only, namely, the trader must check them independently on history, as well as optimize for a currency pair or time frame.

However, we decided to conduct a simple test with default parameters on the Pound/Dollar currency pair for the first half of 2018 on a five-minute time frame.

So, the results of the preliminary test look like this:

In conclusion, it is worth noting that averaging advisors are extremely aggressive robots, but they behave this way only when large, protracted trends appear and the deposit size is small.

For safe trading, the account must have at least 100 dollars on a cent account , or 10 thousand dollars on a classic account.
