Advisor PIPSTRIDER - profitability not in words, but in deeds!
Before starting testing the PIPSTRIDER , I had great doubts. Is it even worth taking a test from an expert who is already more than four years old? Moreover, a significant factor not in favor of the expert was the martingale on the basis of which it was made.
Those people who work very often with experts would probably pass by, because the market has been very volatile in recent years, and experts are profitable in a very short period of time from the creation of an expert to six months of work.
I would have been one of these skeptics if I had not previously done a review and preliminary test in the strategy tester of the PIPSTRIDER advisor. And the reviews on various Forex forums were too mixed.
To refresh your memory, you can see the results of testing an expert advisor in the strategy tester for the EUR/USD pair below:

Despite these results in the strategy tester, they can't be trusted. There are too many instances of such yield curves reversing as a result of running on a demo account, let alone on a live account. To answer the question, "Is the PIPSTRIDER advisor profitable or not?" I decided to test the expert advisor on a demo account. For this type of testing, our team rents a server that allows the expert advisor to operate in the market 24/7 without our intervention.
To make the test as close as possible to the typical beginner's operating conditions, a demo account was opened with a simulated $100 deposit on a cent account or a classic $10,000 account. The expert advisor test began on June 30, 2015, using the settings included with the download. The test ended on July 13, 2015, meaning the robot had been running for exactly two weeks. The test was conducted on the EUR/USD on a five-minute time frame. While this may seem short, it's still sufficient for general dynamics and understanding. The test results are below:

Looking at the testing results, it would probably put even the most inveterate skeptic to shame. The yield curve growth maintains the desired slope and practically matches the test results in the strategy tester. The expert advisor executed a total of 21 trades over the two weeks of testing, with winning trades accounting for 76.19% and losing trades for 23.8%. This suggests that the martingale strategy worked extremely rarely.
The high profit factor of 5 also speaks to the profitability of the expert's strategy. Over two weeks, the expert earned two percent of the deposit, with a drawdown of only 0.3%. Of course, such low income and profit are due to the minimum lot size, but if you had increased the lot size to 0.1 as recommended, your drawdown would have reached three percent of the deposit, and your profit would have been 17%.
Now, checkmate in the whole PIPSTRIDER expert advisor test. For all the skeptics, I'll say this: the expert advisor is profitable, but only if you manage your risks properly and optimize your settings properly. Otherwise, any martingale is doomed to failure! In our case, we can recommend the expert advisor for trading on a cent account ! Thank you for your attention, and good luck!
