Advisor Trio Dancer - good start, sad end!
Greetings dear visitors. Previously, I have repeatedly said that we will test advisors on a demo account. To ensure the reliability of the test, a demo account of 10,000 was opened. This amount is justified by the fact that to work with an expert, the required minimum deposit is 100 dollars in a cent account.
So that you cannot blame us, the server was taken down for testing as a test, so the expert is on the market around the clock.
Earlier I described the settings of the Trio Dancer , so I won’t focus on them. The expert test was started on May 27, 2015 on the euro/dollar currency pair on a five-minute chart. The advisor uses martingale, so the initial profitability chart may impress you. Literally four days later, namely on June 1, 2015, the test result was as follows:
I would like to note that the lot the expert traded was 0.1. Since the Expert Advisor consists of three strategies, the profit was not long in coming, despite the fact that the maximum drawdown of the spruce reached one percent. Such profitability was maintained because the expert’s orders did not go in one direction, and while averaging worked on one order, the other two strategies worked out in profit. Thus, the advisor initially hedged his positions.
But this profitability seemed too high to me, which is too suspicious.
On June 1, 2015, a strong movement in the euro/dollar began and all three strategies of the advisor began to move against the market. Literally on June 2, 2015, the price passed 250 points and the deposit was simply lost. You can see the result in the picture below:
I think the result of testing the advisor is not worth discussing. In just a week, this expert managed to completely destroy the deposit. Of course, literally the next day there was a rollback, and if the deposit had been larger, the expert would have easily survived this movement.
Although the expert leaked the account, I was able to draw a couple of conclusions for myself. The first is that martingale is dangerous. The second is that the expert is not so bad, considering the profitability it gave in a couple of days.
And now recommendations for those who still decide to conduct an additional test of the advisor. Calculate the deposit for your advisor using a simple formula. To trade 0.1 lot for one strategy, you need $100 in a cent account . In our case, for stable operation we need $300, since we have three strategies working simultaneously. I believe the reason for draining the account was an insufficient deposit. Thanks for your attention, good luck!
