BOILER EA – expectations shattered

Greetings dear visitors. Today we will talk about testing the BOILER EA expert, which I previously wrote about in the thread on Forex advisors. You can see detailed information on this advisor, its settings, features and operating principle at the link .

If you looked at the expert's tests in the strategy tester, it seemed like this was the real Grail. Of course, the profitability graph was not ideal, but the very fact of confident growth, and with the default settings, gave high hopes for its work. These kinds of factors forced our team to decide on detailed testing of the Expert Advisor on a demo account.

Since dozens of different experts pass through our hands and manage to catch our attention to one degree or another, we set up a server for testing this kind of advisors. To simulate a typical beginner who has a maximum of $100 in a cent account, a demo account was opened for $10,000, which simulates the same amount in cents.

The presence of a server allows us to be confident in the accuracy of the experiment, since the expert himself is in working mode around the clock.
Expert testing began on June 22, 2015, and the test itself was completed on July 7, 2015. In fact, the expert was tested in its pure form for two weeks. Let me remind you that the test was carried out on the euro/dollar currency pair on an hourly time frame. The test result is shown in the picture below:

 Unfortunately, harsh reality shattered our expectations. In total, the expert completed eight positions, and only one was closed with profit, and one with a minimum profit of 5 points with a trailing stop. More detailed situation from the terminal:

 In general, I would like to note that perhaps the testing period is too short for this type of advisor. But, despite this, a very important point can be emphasized that the expert made losses seven times in a row, which even the most inexperienced trader could not do. For this reason, we are removing BOILER EA from the test and do not recommend using it on a real account with default settings. Thanks for your attention, good luck!
