BOILER EA – Expectations Shattered

Greetings, dear visitors. Today we'll be discussing testing the BOILER EA, which I previously wrote about in the Forex Expert Advisors thread. Detailed information on this EA, its settings, features, and operating principles can be found at this link .

Looking at the expert advisor's tests in the strategy tester, it seemed like the Holy Grail. Sure, the profitability chart wasn't perfect, but the fact that it was growing steadily, even with the default settings, raised high hopes for its success. These factors prompted our team to thoroughly test the expert advisor on a demo account.

Since we handle dozens of different experts who, to varying degrees, manage to catch our attention, we set up a server to test these types of advisors. To simulate a typical beginner with a maximum of $100 in a cent account , we opened a demo account with $10,000, which simulates the same amount in cents.

The server allows us to be confident in the experiment's accuracy, as the expert advisor itself is operational 24/7.
Testing began on June 22, 2015, and ended on July 7, 2015. In fact, the expert advisor was tested for two weeks. As a reminder, the test was conducted on the EUR/USD currency pair on an hourly time frame. The test results are shown in the image below:

Unfortunately, harsh reality dashed our expectations. The expert advisor executed eight positions in total, and only one was closed in profit, while another was closed with a minimum profit of 5 pips using a trailing stop. A more detailed look at the terminal:

Overall, I'd like to point out that the testing period may be too short for this type of EA. However, it's important to note that the EA suffered losses seven times in a row, which is a feat even the most inexperienced trader couldn't achieve. For this reason, we're removing the BOILER EA from testing and don't recommend using it on a real account with the default settings. Thank you for your attention, and good luck!
